A unique concert, "Canto Ostinato: Playing with Infinity," was held on July 3 in the courtyard of the Royal Castle as part of the 24th Music Gardens Festival in Warsaw. The performance of the work by Dutch composer Simeon ten Holt (1923-2012), which consists of 106 "cells" – composed several-act fragments – was enhanced by a set of instruments of varying tones and a projection of photographs by artist Kacper Kowalski. The photographs, taken from an aerial perspective, reveal the world of forms, shapes and patterns of nature. The performers were Zuzanna Elster (harp),Magda Kordylasińska-Pękala (marimba),Karol Krasiński (vibraphone, bells),Adam Kośmieja (synthesizer), Karol Sikora (bass clarinet), Martyna Zakrzewska (piano) and Kacper Kowalski (photography). The programme: Simeon ten Holt, Canto Ostinato (1976-9).
